Lysos is a beautiful and historic village in the Paphos district, built at an average altitude of 560 meters on the edge of the Paphos forest. It is known for its natural beauty, traditional stone-built houses and the hospitality of its residents.

Our village has a long history that is lost in the centuries. The name in one of the versions is likely to come from the ancient Greek word LYSIS, denoting a place of relief and tranquillity.

Today, Lysos is gradually developing, maintaining its character to stop the problem of urban sprawl. The new Community Council has plans for the development and revitalization of the village, seeking economic support and the return of residents through development and infrastructure.
