Community Park
The Community Park of Lysos is located in a privileged location, below the central square of the village and next to the well-known traditional fountain. The area occupied by the current park had significant social and historical significance in the past, as the old hospital of Lysos operated there.
Lysos, as the main village of the area, was for decades a service center for the surrounding villages, with infrastructure such as a hospital, pharmacy, shoemakers, tailors and other necessary professions. Over time and urbanization, the hospital was abandoned and the building remained empty.
The previous Community Council proceeded to upgrade the area and transform it into a welcoming park. Today, the area is a reference point for the village and a meeting point for all ages.
The park features comfortable benches for relaxation, elegant paths, lush vegetation and shade from trees that provide coolness during the summer months. It also includes a playground for young children, lighting for safe evening visits, as well as basic hygiene infrastructure that ensures the comfort of visitors.
With the traditional fountain next to it and its historical significance as a former hospital, the Lysos Community Park is a unique combination of nature, history and culture. A true gem for the village.
