Church Saint Raphael

Saint Raphael

In the heart of the village, amidst nature and the serenity of the landscape, stands the church of Saint Raphael, a sacred place that is a symbol of faith, hope and miracles.

The construction of the church was not accidental. It began with the deep vow of a fellow villager, who was facing a serious health problem. In his anguish, he turned with faith to Saint Raphael, making daily supplications and asking for his help. He prayed with the commitment that, if the Saint healed him, he would build a church in his name.

His prayer was answered, after a shocking journey of faith and patience, his health was restored, something that he and his family considered a miracle. Keeping his promise, at his own expense and with the support of fellow villagers and friends of our community, he built the church of Saint Raphael, which today is a spiritual beacon for the entire village. It opened for the first time on Easter Tuesday 2024.

The church celebrates solemnly on April 22, the day of remembrance of Saints Raphael, Nicholas and Irene, with a Divine Liturgy and pilgrimage.

Many believers from Lysos and the surrounding areas come to light a candle, pray and ask for the protection of the Saint.

Saint Raphael in the village is not just a temple. It is a living testimony of faith, a vow that came true and a miracle that continues to inspire.
